On Mount Eremos we learn from Jesus how to pray.  Jesus tells us in Matthew that praying is not meant to be something we only do in public, but that it should be private and intimate as well (if not more than public). Jesus not only teaches about prayer, but establishes God as the Father. Coming to God as our Father allows us to come to him in a more intimate manner.
