Dynamics of Worship

Psalm 100
A psalm. For giving grateful praise.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Praise: Thanking God for what He has done.

We praise privately, we praise together.  We do so both in prayer and in singing.

When you come into God’s house, if you are not praising God with prayer song you are missing out on a blessing.

Worship: Worship is both a LIFESTYLE and an activity. It should be a part of who you are and how you interact in the world. Everything that you do, from your job to caring for you family is an act of worship if done in a manner to honor God.

Worship is worth it.

The Magi worshipped Jesus as a baby.  He had only been born, but they knew that He was special and great things would come from His birth, so they worshipped Jesus.

The leper was disgusting in the eyes of others, but yet he worshipped Jesus because he knew that Jesus was great. He worshipped before he ever asked to be made clean. Are you worshipping before asking to be made clean?

You already have God’s attention. He is waiting for you to come to Him.

The scripture tells us that we are to worship God in Spirit and in truth. What does that mean?

Worshipping in spirit is worship beyond the physical. Anyone can come to church, but not everyone experiences the presence of the Lord. Worshipping in the spirit begins with you bowing your heart. Worshipping in truth means that we worship God based on what He has done and who He is. He is worthy of worship.

Worship is not an option, it is a command, and there are benefits of worship. You get a head start on heaven. You realize that you are the creation, so the entire world is not on your shoulders. Your view of life is better.  Mostly worship is a response to who God is and it allows us to reflect on God and who He is.
